Journey

Tide of sea ebbs and flows to conquer and take with it, preying on all innocents. Innocence matters not when overcome by the unconquerable, combined with a measure of evil. Whereas, strength of fortress matters not, for it can be eroded by high tides and wind, one grain of sand at a time until it is no more. Growing weak to relinquish the battle, unwillingly it departs. Sea be thy master, leaving in its wake desolate destruction for creatures have not their own devices, when weary of the cause. Nor will the fortress be remembered for its upright and
determined continuation for that which is right, good and solid of foundation. It won't be remembered at all.
Sadly, humans are a bit liken to that. Will each of us be remembered after we are departed?

A peaceful calm overwhelms the silence where thou didst speak of hopes and dreams shared, yet to be fulfilled. Renewed strength enlivens my soul. Silence between envisions us, the images of what was and what shall be our fate or destiny. Cherished, we are forever and a day.

Awaken me from a slumbered state when the loss of a dream hath passed me by, or will it ere be over? Would that my heart was ice and tears shards of crystal.

I am sorry that I have not the ability to turn feelings on and off at the end of a sentence. Would that I could, then I would not grieve for you.
If only you had told me, it might have made a difference. Starting over with someone new every time the mood strikes is futile, of which you have surely learned by now.

Dream or Reality
Dreams are wishes a heart makes when it's at its most vulnerable
Never confuse a dream with reality.
May all your dreams turn to wishes
Wishes to hopes
Hopes to possibilities
Possibilities to reality

Differentiate the two!

Peace out

Poor Little Bird

There are no words to describe
the pain that he causes

Her tears fall like sheets of rain
they fall without pauses

He throws the bird his day old bread
anticipation sure to fill her

One day that old bread don't come
starvation nearly kills her

He gathers his bread crumbs once again
and throws them to the bird

Again, she anticipates what little he gives
not realizing what occurred

He wants to keep the bird coming back
until he may one day need her

He gives her his crumbs once in a while
but she can't survive off what he feeds her

He's been feeding other birds her bread
each day after she flies away

He has all the dirty birds in his yard
he prefers things to go this way

Fly, beautiful bird, fly off to a better place
someone will appreciate your beauty

Fly, bird, find a new place to find your food
they will see you as a gift, not as a duty

First Night

Missed you as soon as our fingers released
Watching your path down the highway
Darkness before dawn welcomed sunlight above trees
Stars shimmered like diamonds
Hovering above dew laden leaves
Silence, save for whistles of
Far away ghost trains, lonesome without light
No traffic on that highway the very first night
Returning to me you did, for embrace's reprieve
Another kiss, another touch, of your unshaven face
Witnessing your sadness and reluctance to part
Clinging to our dreams, two perpetual hearts
Fingers gently tracing, outlining my face
Ever tightly locked in one final embrace
Touching in semi-darkness, unknowing
More farewells to come, linger no more
Newness of love as fresh as first frost
Would grow, then melt with the ages
Adoration's newness twisting seconds be lost
Like a package ripped opened, unwrapping two hearts
Or was it hesitance at trusting, never to part
Occasions, I imagined with red ribbons undone
Endearments and memories, we'd create as one
Early evening had found us in a river cafe
Corner candlelit table holding hands
In our own safe harbor, time stood still
As the music played forever and a day
Speaking in hushed whispers
Eternally you'd love me, words you did say
Never have doubts, partings would cease
Inhale, we'll exhale as one
Was this spoken to reassure
Convincing to leave me at peace
Yet no peace do I find
Inhaling memories with tears
Little I knew might haunt me for years
No solace do I know, forever and a day
Now you are gone, not before you did say
We've come far, yet not far enough
Speaking of love, you did cease
Wondering was I, if love ended this way
Taking your leave followed by silence
Never looking back down that path of highway
Yet this time you exhibited only feelings of flight
Never to return as you did once
Upon that very first night

Symmetry

Silent hushes reside
Within a writer's subconscious
Tucked away and hidden
Whilst they pause at a crossroads of indecision
Seeking direction, pushing themselves
One syllable, one word, one thought
Patiently at the depot they await
Train and transportation
Summoning with a lonesome whistle
Echoing a lullaby toward symmetry
Destination ~ a land of dreams on parchment~

Love

The weight of the world is love. Under the burden of solitude, under the burden of dissatisfaction The weight we carry is love. Who can deny? In dreams it touches the body, in thought, constructs a miracle, in imagination anguishes till born, in human - looks out of the heart burning with purity- for the burden of life is love, but we carry the weight wearily and so must rest in the arms of love, no rest without love, no sleep without dreams of love be mad or chill obsessed with angels or machines the final wish is love cannot be bitter, cannot deny, cannot withhold if denied: the weight is too heavy

I couldn't agree with you more, Wyn. I hate hate hate editing. These past five months my editor and I have been doing edits on my poetry book I have honestly wanted to pull my hair out. I was SO happy the day we finally finished. I dread having to go through that again. Have a great evening, sweet friend. *big hugs*

I agree completely, Steph! I took a college course in Editing last year and it was tough as nails. I got through it but would not want to do that for a living. It would do a bad number on the eyes as well. Editors get paid well for a good reason, they earn every penny of it. LOL (((Steph)))
